Sitting on the balcony enjoying the beauty of the mountain sunset, as beautiful as I have ever seen. Hard to imagine with this beauty there is such tragedy. The morning was slow because we have filled up all of the post op space. So we couldn't get any pts in nor anyplace to take em when done. Frustrating... Started day with drsg change and debridement on 6 month old, then did a 40% burn victim. Driving a propane truck when earthquake hit. Burned all of face, head, back and both arms. Set out of hospital in porta prince 5 days till Dr Vanderpool found him and brought him here. Has nice family that live him greatly. Unfortunately if he can't be evaced out will probably die, even after all of this. Then if he got better he has no place to go. Tomorrow we move into second phase of trauma where will take these back under more sterile conditions to clean and debride wounds. Lots of work left to do. We soon will be getting C-Arm so we can put in full length nails in legs. Which will be better. Not much food here, everyone is hungry. I'm glad Jayne insisted that I buy some. A wise lady for sure. Goodnight and thanks for prayer coverage. I have felt it everyday.
